"The Junglies" series of children's books and characters were inspired by Francois' eldest daughter. Francois initially wrote the first five books in the series which are pictured above. He has since added another seven books to the series which are still to be illustrated.
Each book in the series has been written with a lesson for young readers to take to heart. The lessons include gratitude, honesty and teamwork and other educational lessons about camouflage and recycling.
"The Junglies" are ideal for young readers to learn about diversity as each book in the series has as a central theme of "unity in diversity". This is represented by the characters which, despite being different animals, are friends who work together to overcome challenges. The theme is further supported by the character of the game warden, Jungle Man, with the animals.
"The Junglies" stories also facilitate education regarding endangered species as each animal in the books has at least one subspecies which is endangered including rabbits.
"Jungle Man" in the books is also representative of man's ideal relationship with nature which is that of nurturer, helper and protector.
In the remaining seven books to be illustrated and published, lessons have extended to recycling and conservation as well.
